NorthBay Hospice has earned its second star in the four-star “We Honor Veterans” program. The program, implemented last fall, is designed to help NorthBay Hospice increase its ability to serve our community’s veterans and their families, according to Linda Pribble, Hospice volunteer and bereavement coordinator.

The second star was earned after Hospice staff and volunteers received veteran-centric education, which helped them identify patients with military experience, and become more aware of their unique needs at end of life. The next step was to take their message to the community. Linda gave presentations to local service groups and joined the East Bay Veteran Community Partnership through Veterans Affairs in Martinez.
