VacaValley Hospital was built with a lot of community support, and its opening ceremonies were planned with community support, as well.

A 20-member council was established to help plan the opening ceremonies and to assure various local groups were involved in the grand opening festivities.

The VacaValley Advisory Council included such Vacaville residents as David Fleming, Danny Gomes, Kathleen Heffernan, Don Huffman, Jill Hunter, Lynn Kessler, Gerald Mahaffey, Frank McKevitt, Tom McNunn, Martha Orr, Randy Osborn, Jim Redman, Nathaniel Richman, Louise Rossacci, Cathy Schell, Helen Stephenson, John Thompson and Virginia Kloppenberg.
