Hospital Advisory Council Seeks Members

To improve the patient experience, NorthBay Healthcare is creating a team of patients and family members of patients who are willing to share their time and opinions as part of NorthBay’s first-ever Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC).

“At NorthBay, we want to get things right for every patient, every encounter, every time,” explained Jennifer Shoemaker, program manager for patient experience.

“Patients and their families are often the most knowledgeable members of the care team and can offer unique perspectives and valuable feedback regarding the care they receive.”

Jennifer and a team of NorthBay leaders are inviting interested individuals to submit an application, which can be found online at NorthBay.org/PFAC.

The council meets for two hours every other month and provides insights across a variety of medical disciplines. The team consists of patients, family advisors, physicians, nurses, safety and service specialists and managers.

The council will serve as an advisory resource to NorthBay on many of its programs. It will focus on improving relationships and communication between patients, families and staff.
